I have Nice Blog Friends!

Yesterday, as some of you read- I was a bit down in the dumps. I usually try to be positive in my posts but things were really wearing on me and I really couldn't talk to anyone about it, so it felt good to get it off my chest and tell the whole blog world. And I am so glad I did. I got two fantastic comments from H&H and TCP-(I read both daily). They were really helpful and made me feel so much better- so much better actually that I wanted to post them.

Hey- sounds like you are in a bit of a slump- take that early response test for one.. so you ease your mind.Take a deep breath and then move forward with your fabulous life in this fabulous city and think....1. Being a mom in Chicago has loads to offer and will be so much fun and a whole new 2008 than I ever imagined......OR2. Whooo- close one- and pack that gym back get some great new mags and download some great tunes for the treadmill and GO! Just go! Each day it gets more fun and easier and there are tons of people there at night that feel the same as you- but once you get there its all good!I was there tonight and came home with a wet head after swimming- but I feel nice a cozy and sleepy now.Good Luck- of course now you have to let us know-well no you don't- but.. and make tomorrow a great day.

Oh wow. Deep breath. Either way, you'll be fine. Better than fine, right? I would test right away, but then, I have no patience.

Plus, the bright side of being a pg bridesmaid? You won't have to diet yourself into your dress or suck your stomach in for pictures. :)

How about watching a nice, sappy romantic comedy? That always makes me feel better. Hugh Grant + massive amounts of popcorn generally does the trick.Take care,TCP

I took both of your advice: I watched Four Weddings and a Funeral last night- which always makes me laugh and cry, and today I bought a early response test. I will keep you posted. Either way will be fine- really. And as TCP said Better than fine. I can't wait to have a baby-- I was just hoping to get the cruise and best friends wedding out of the way beforehand- but in life you can't plan everything, and just because I may not have accomplished my 20 things to do before conceiving checklist- that is no reason to panic.

Monday Monday

My Spirits are not as high as they could be today, so I thought I would post a few lists

Things that are good about today:

1. ok maybe I should start with the things that are bugging me because I can't think of anything good right now

Things that are bugging me today:

1. I am two days late for my period.

2. I am way behind at work...yet still blogging

3. It is dingy out today

4. I am 10 lbs overweight and not making progress anymore!

5. I don't want to work out- I just want to go home

6. I can't think of a movie to watch tonight that will make me feel better

Things that are ok about today:

1. It isn't freezing out today

2. I have my wellies at work, so i won't ruin my Uggs in the sludge

3. Even if I am pregnant- I have a fantastic husband who will be excited after he gets over the initial shock.

4. Maybe no one will notice that I am as big as a whale when I am in my best friends wedding in 8 months....everyone loves a pregnant bridesmaid ....right?

CRAP!
The worst part is that I just went on and on about how i didn't understand how people got pregnant by accident. Foot..mouth...me. Two days isn't that big of a deal is it? Should I be worried?

UGGs!

So I did it! I finally found them- after calling every store in Chicago-land and going online to every Internet retail shoe store and pulling my hair out- I happened to be walking through Nordstrom yesterday on my way home from work, and even though I had called and looked online there a million times, I stopped at the UGG display. The sales person glanced over at me just in time and I asked, "You don't have these in a 7 right? You are sold out..right?" And you know what? They DID! I slipped them on and they felt great! I was in and out in 5 minutes and my checking account was a little depleted, but my feet are ecstatic!

So NOT Fair!

I am totally and utterly crushed at the moment. My Best friend from home called me and told me about a great flight deal for both her city and mine down to Florida. My parents own a place right on the beach- as you can see from the photo- and it is basically a free vacation once you get down there because you can walk everywhere- the island is only 11 miles long and maybe a mile wide. Anyway it is empty and I am always welcome to go, but between work and other obligations and trying to find good flight deals that DON'T stop in Atlanta (which always seems to have delays- I know O'Hare is just as bad!) I can never seem to find the time. Anyway, the flight was fantastic...leaving this Friday afternoon and returning Monday....AND I CAN'T GO! I am just far too behind at work and I know it would look bad to take Monday and part of Friday off, but it doesn't make it any easier! I wanted to have one last hurrah before my friend starts trying to get pregnant, and this mini trip would get me out of the FREEZER that is Chicago at the moment. PLUS my husband took it upon himself to plan a guy's weekend at MY FAMILY's LAKE HOUSE- to which I am obviously not invited! So I get to spend Thursday-Sunday all by myself...which I am sure to those of you with Kids- that sounds great, but for me it just sound s BOOORing and Cold! Sorry, for the downer post...I will recover.
